BDS Partners with OSD for another Successful Fix It Fair - Printable Version - December 3, 2008 - 0 Comments

The Bureau of Development Services teamed up with the Office of Sustainable Development to take advantage of a great opportunity to tell the public about our services and to answer any questions they had about development, permitting, planning and ways to make their homes more energy efficient at the Fix It Fair on November 22nd.

The Fix It Fairs draw huge crowds and a wide range of questions.  Attendees are able to sign up for workshops and our very own Plumbing Inspector, Wes Cooke, teaches a water heater workshop that is always well attended.

This year, Inspections Manager Jim Nicks, Inspections Section Manager Larry Pamer and Outreach Program Coordinator Tiffani Penson teamed up to provide the customers information and answer their questions.  We received a wide variety of questions from "How do I start a restaurant" to "Do I need permits to pour a driveway of build a shed?"  We also had access to our Website and were able to send staff email correspondence containing the customer contact information to answer any detailed questions they had for their specific projects.  This worked out great because by Monday morning staff was already contacting the customer and responding to their request.

Thank you customers and staff for making this fair a continued success!

The next Fix it Fair is:

January 10, 2009 - Parkrose High School 12003 NE Shaver
