LABOR AGREEMENT - LABORERS' LOCAL 483 - RECREATION - LETTER OF AGREEMENT

PURPOSE

Section 1. The Council finds:

1.  Article 13, Section 1 of the Labor Agreement lists the following holidays as guaranteed paid holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King's Birthday, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

2.  The Bureau of Human Resources, on behalf of the City, and Laborers' Local Union 483 have entered into a Letter of Agreement, Exhibit A attached, that adds the day after Thanksgiving to the list of guaranteed paid holidays.

POLICY

NOW, THEREFORE, the Council directs:

a.  The City Council approves the Letter of Agreement attached to this Ordinance marked as Exhibit A.

b.  This ordinance is binding City policy.

Section 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists in order to avoid an unnecessary delay in the orderly implementation of the provisions of the labor agreement; therefore, this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Council.
